For some unknown reason my wife, Paula and our children Chris, Rachel Sarah & Kate agreed to go for a cycling trip for this year's holiday. The trip that has evolved is from our home in Hampshire, through London and onto Harwich where we catch a ferry to the Hook of Holland. We will cross Holland to join the Rhine river near Cologne and follow the Rhine to Basel staying on route with friends in Karlsruhe for a couple of days. Most of this route to Basel will be flat, however I plan to sneak in a few "Cols" on route to Lac de Neuchatel and our journey's end at Peroy, a small village on the bank of Lake Leman
